Save your mining tools for when Ruler of the Mine is active, then choose the reward you want to reach. Keep picks, dynamite and TNT available: choosing the right tool for the exposed tiles matters more than counting picks alone.

Before you start

  1. Open Ruler of the Mine and check its remaining time and reward stages. Collecting ore earns event points; each ore's description shows its point value. Playrix: Ruler of the Mine
  2. Note your starting stock of picks, dynamite and TNT. Decide whether you are aiming for the grand prize or a nearer reward before using that stock.
  3. Open the Laboratory and check See the Light. This gem-activated booster reveals ore and artifacts in darkened areas of the mine for one day. Activate it when you are ready to mine, so its duration overlaps your session. Playrix: Laboratory boosters

Use the tool that fits the route

  • Pick: clear a single dirt tile when that is all you need to reach the next useful space.
  • Dynamite: clear a horizontal route when several tiles in the same row stand between you and your target.
  • TNT: clear a cluster of tiles; save some for stone rather than spending it on isolated dirt.

Look for a short route to visible ore. Avoid clearing an entire row just to leave it empty, and skip a costly detour when you need the remaining tools for nearer ore. Google Play: Mining in Township

How many picks should you save?

A pick total alone cannot tell you whether you will finish: the route you dig and the explosives you use also affect consumption. Build your next estimate from your own completed run.

Record all three tool balances before starting and again when you reach your target reward. If you continue mining afterward, record that use separately. This separates the tools needed for the event goal from tools spent gathering extra materials.

For example, starting with 320 picks and finishing with 90 is a net decrease of 230. If you collected more picks while digging, you actually used more than 230; include those gains when counting total consumption.

If you run low before reaching your target, check the next reward and remaining time before buying more tools. Stop when the additional cost is more than you want to spend on that reward.
