Start by comparing connections, not deleting game data. Record the exact error, your device, store edition and game version. Keep the same account and installation throughout the checks so you change only one thing at a time.

1. Compare two permitted networks

Try the same device on another network you are allowed to use. If it connects at home but fails on campus, focus on the campus connection. If both fail, that comparison alone cannot separate a device problem from a wider service issue.

Ninja Kiwi identifies firewall rules, parental controls and DNS filtering as common causes. For university networks, it asks operators to check ninjakiwi.com and nkstatic.com, including their subdomains.

Each official browser-test URL uses https://HOST/cdn-cgi/trace; replace HOST with a hostname below:

  • api.ninjakiwi.com
  • moab.ninjakiwi.com
  • analytics.ninjakiwi.com
  • guts.ninjakiwi.com
  • static-api.nkstatic.com
  • priority-static-api.nkstatic.com
  • btd6-assets.nkstatic.com
  • bundles.nkstatic.com

Open the tests on the affected device. For a DNS check, Windows users can run nslookup api.ninjakiwi.com in Command Prompt; on macOS, run dig api.ninjakiwi.com in Terminal. Repeat with a host whose browser test failed.

Record whether the result is a DNS error, a timeout, or an HTTP response such as 403 or 404. An HTTP error means you received a response; it is not proof that DNS failed or that the full game connection works. Give the result to support or the network administrator instead of guessing from the browser page.

3. Fix the specific rule

Ask the network owner or parent managing the controls to review the required domains. On a device you administer, review the firewall rule for the actual game executable. Ninja Kiwi notes that a browser may be allowed while the game remains blocked.

Use a targeted permission for the trusted installed game rather than switching off the firewall. Retest after the change and note the result. Do not change managed-network settings without the administratorโ€™s permission.

If it still fails

Send support the error screenshot, device and game version, store edition, network comparison and failed host tests. Say whether the browser connects while the game does not. Do not include passwords or post diagnostic output publicly; it can contain network details.

Leave app storage and saves untouched during these checks. If the problem is a confirmed account restriction rather than a connection error, use the account-review process instead.
