9 Kings

9 Kings combines a roguelike deckbuilder with kingdom management and automatic battles. Choose a ruler, place cards to develop your citadel, recruit troops and assemble combinations of buildings, spells and upgrades that can survive increasingly dangerous attacks. Cards taken from rival kings let a run evolve beyond your starting deck.

Rather than directing every soldier, you shape the army before the fighting begins. The appeal is experimenting with synergies: a different ruler, card reward or placement decision can send the same kingdom in a new direction. Quest Mode provides additional challenges, while the full game also includes asynchronous multiplayer against eight rivals.

Free trial versus full game
The mobile download is free to try, not the complete game for free. The trial offers the King of Nothing and King of Spells, the first three king levels and difficulties, and runs capped at Year 33. The paid unlock opens all kings, further progression, all quests, multiplayer and endless play beyond Year 33. Playdigious lists a standard full-game price of US$9.99 or €9.99; regional prices and temporary offers can differ, so check the purchase screen before buying.

Mobile features
The Android and iOS editions use a redesigned touch interface and support cloud saves within their respective platforms. Android also supports progression with Google Play Games on PC using the same Google Play Games account. This should not be confused with a Steam purchase carrying over to mobile.
