Basic attack1 options
Artwork unavailableUNDILUTEDDetails

Lobs a bottle that damages on impact and leaves a damaging puddle. Place it where an opponent wants to move or remain, rather than expecting every target to stand inside for the whole effect.

Super1 options
Artwork unavailableLAST CALLDetails

Throws a spread of burning bottles over a large area. Use the resulting zones to restrict routes or contest an objective; covering empty ground is less useful than denying a route the opponent needs.

Gadgets2 options
STICKY SYRUP MIXERDetails

Leaves a sticky puddle that slows enemies who touch it. Use it to make a close approach harder, then move away from the threat. The opponent must contact the puddle; activating it does not automatically slow every enemy nearby.

HERBAL TONICDetails

Throws healing potions toward nearby allies, creating areas that restore health over time. Use it when teammates can safely benefit from the healing. Do not encourage someone to remain in incoming fire simply because a healing area is available.

Star Powers2 options
MEDICAL USEDetails

Provides self-healing, giving Barley a sustain-focused alternative to Extra Noxious. It can help him remain involved in a fight, but it does not replace safe positioning. Retreat from concentrated fire rather than expecting healing to absorb an entire enemy push.

EXTRA NOXIOUSDetails

Increases the damage of Barley's regular attacks. It rewards throws that opponents cannot easily avoid, especially around routes they need to use. It improves damage rather than healing, so consider how safely you can maintain pressure before choosing it.

Hypercharge1 options
BOTTLED-UP RAGEDetails

Replaces the Super's usual spread with larger brews that also remove bushes on impact. Besides damage and area denial, the landing can change how safely either team can use that cover.

Gears6 options
DAMAGEDetails

Increases damage while the Brawler is below half health. The extra pressure is conditional, not a reason to remain in a losing exchange.

GADGET COOLDOWNDetails

Reduces the wait between Gadget uses. Choose it when repeated access to the selected Gadget meaningfully supports the fight.

HEALTHDetails

Improves health recovery. Leave enough room for natural recovery to begin instead of expecting the Gear to erase damage during continued attacks.

SHIELDDetails

Adds a consumable shield that recovers while the Brawler is at full health. Preserve recovery time between fights to restore the extra protection.

SPEEDDetails

Increases movement speed in bushes. Its value depends on having useful bush routes rather than simply equipping it on an open map.

VISIONDetails

Briefly reveals hidden opponents after you damage them. It helps track targets entering bushes, but does not reveal invisibility granted by abilities.

Overview

Description
Barley is a thrower who makes routes and objectives uncomfortable to occupy. His attacks leave damaging puddles, so good placement matters beyond the first impact. His build can lean toward added attack damage, personal healing or support for nearby teammates.

How to play: Aim at the space an opponent needs next, not only where they are standing now. Cover an approach or escape route while keeping your own retreat open. Spread pressure across useful ground rather than spending every attack on a spot the enemy has already abandoned.

Strengths: Denying space and helping teammates hold a position. Extra Noxious adds damage to regular attacks, while Herbal Tonic can support allies who are able to use its healing areas. Sticky Syrup Mixer offers a different answer when an enemy is trying to close the distance.

Limitations: Damage on the ground does little to an opponent who can safely go around it. Becoming focused on a distant target can leave Barley unaware of a nearby approach. Healing does not make an exposed position safe, and a slow is not a guarantee that a pursuing enemy will stop attacking.

Practical tips: Place your next attack along the enemy's likely exit instead of automatically repeating the same throw. Use the Super to make important ground costly to cross, with teammates ready to use the space. Keep checking both sides of your cover. When an enemy closes in, move toward safety while using your defensive option rather than standing still and hoping it wins the fight alone.
