Overview and role
Sebastian is a Progress Support for teams that can produce critical hits. His Alliance kit protects against specified control categories, improves an existing critical-hit stat, reduces a front opponent's Armor and adds pure damage to critical strikes. It is not the Dominion kit: Ballad of Tenacity is not a universal debuff cleanse, and Battle Song is not an Alliance base card here.
Reading the battle cycle
Curse Song establishes an opening Armor reduction on the nearest enemy. Hunter's Tune then supplies short critical-hit windows, while the ultimate creates protection whose durability is consumed by enemy offense. Watch the actual protection uptime rather than counting the number of ultimate activations. A shield that breaks before the important stun or curse arrives may not solve the matchup despite a large displayed capacity.
Partners and interactions
Physical attackers with an existing critical-hit stat can make direct use of Hunter's Tune and Rhythm of War. Before assuming a partner qualifies, inspect its current stats and any source that grants a critical stat. A teammate's temporary Physical Attack buff may improve other Sebastian interactions, but the publisher explicitly says it cannot increase Rhythm of War's pure-damage amount during combat. This prevents a misleading buff-stacking recommendation.
Limits and opposing pressure
The shield names stuns and curses, not every negative status. Silence, displacement or other controls should not be assumed covered merely because a Dominion guide describes wider protection. Dense enemy attacks can also wear the shield down. Critical-hit teams may face effects that react to their critical strikes, so a high critical chance can have a trade-off rather than being a universal upgrade in every fight.
Development decisions
Physical Attack scales his listed shield, critical-stat bonus, Armor reduction and pure-damage formula, making it relevant to more than personal attacks. However, the pure-damage portion is fixed against combat-time buffs, and survival is still needed to sustain his support. Evaluate whether the team lacks critical opportunities, shield uptime or a living Sebastian. Different failures justify different use of Health, Agility and offensive upgrades.
Artifacts
Elven Lute grants team Physical Attack; Warrior's Code supplies critical-hit chance and Physical Attack; Ring of Agility develops his primary stat. These naturally suit a physical team, but the weapon buff must not be presented as a way to increase the fixed Rhythm of War pure-damage amount mid-fight. It can still affect other Physical Attack-dependent mechanics according to their own rules.
Glyphs and skins
The reviewed glyph set is Health, Physical Attack, Agility, Magic Defense and critical-hit chance. Skin examples are Spring+ for Physical Attack, Stellar for Health, Mythical for Toughness, Dark Depths for Magic Defense and Romantic for critical-hit chance, plus Default Agility. Prioritize from observed failure rather than a universal catalogue order. These Alliance stats should not be replaced by similarly named Dominion skins with different bonuses.
Talismans
Improvisation starts with Agility and the secondary catalogue pairs it with Armor rolls. Symphonies starts with Physical Attack and is paired with critical-hit chance rolls. Compare them as complete stat packages: more offense may support several formulas, while Armor may preserve the source of the team's protection. Hero level 120 unlocks use, and actual owned rolls matter more than an external maximum-power example.
Class and keyword changes
The publisher's Phobos rework removes the Curse tag from Ballad of Tenacity, leaving Shield; that does not remove its protection against curses. Curse Song remains a different skill with a curse/debuff effect. Support class progression can add defense reduction through its own trigger and is not a fifth base card. No Sebastian-specific Relic modifier was certified in this review.
