Hero Wars: Alliance

Polaris

Control

Overview

Description

Overview and role
Polaris is a Progress Control hero, as listed in the publisher’s current class roster. Her repeated stuns create opportunities for Aurora Borealis, which rewards applying another stun while the first is still active. Her comet also supplies magic damage over time. A community page labels her Mage in one summary, but that conflict does not justify changing her class or importing the Dominion version's different third and fourth skills.

Reading the battle cycle
Pulsing Comet lands behind the enemy formation, so distance changes how long each opponent is affected. Glacial Fortress provides another stun opportunity after it receives enough hits, while Shooting Star attacks the center. Watch overlap rather than only counting the number of stuns: Aurora Borealis requires an enemy who is already stunned when another stun is applied. Misaligned casts may deliver control without activating that damage amplification.

Partners and interactions
The publisher explicitly suggests Judge, Arachne and Orion as Progress partners whose stuns can work with Polaris. Progress allies also enlarge Shooting Star's area, and their magic damage receives the larger Aurora Borealis increase. These benefits have different requirements: faction expands the shard area, while an actual overlapping stun triggers Radiance. A physical Progress team should not assume it receives the same offensive payoff as a magic-oriented one.

Limits and opposing pressure
Stun prevention can deny the overlap on which Radiance depends. A protected enemy can therefore be a more serious obstacle than one with merely high Health. The comet's duration falls with distance, so a front target may not stay controlled as long as the rear. Its damage-over-time component cannot be dodged, miss or be reflected under the current publisher rules, but this does not certify that its separate stun ignores control protection.

Development decisions
Magic Attack improves the three documented damage formulas; survival keeps the overlapping-stun plan available for later cycles. Magical critical-hit chance is part of her Alliance progression, but attack, critical chance and control uptime solve different problems. Before investing heavily, check whether the team actually creates Radiance and whether its main damage is magical. More displayed power cannot repair a lineup that never meets the skill's trigger.

Artifacts

Guiding Star supplies team magical critical-hit chance. The secondary catalogue identifies Code of Decay with magical critical-hit chance and Magic Attack, plus Ring of Intelligence. Its layout incorrectly labels both Guiding Star and Code of Decay as weapons, so book-slot classification remains a verification item rather than a silent correction. Do not substitute the Dominion Guiding Star's Magic Penetration bonus into this Alliance profile.

Glyphs and skins

The Alliance catalogue lists magical critical-hit chance, Magic Attack, Intelligence, Health and Magic Defense glyphs. Skin examples are Harvest for Magic Attack, Cybernetic+ for Health, Spring for Armor and Default for Intelligence. These differ from Dominion's catalogue. Weigh enough durability to cast against the damage stats that matter during Radiance; no current shop access or universal spending sequence is implied by these examples.

Talismans

The publisher lists Supernova with Intelligence and Blizzard with Toughness as their first-slot stats. The April release announcement also identifies magical critical-hit chance for the first talisman. Blizzard's remaining slots were not independently established here. Compare the owned items through actual survival and damage during the overlap window; do not infer all slot values from a first-slot list or treat unverified rolls as guaranteed.

Class and additional progression
Her Control class progression can supplement successful control with a later slowdown and physical-damage reduction. This is distinct from Aurora Borealis and does not change the faction-specific magic bonus. No Polaris-specific Relic enhancement was certified. Realm troop skills, if present on the account, belong outside these four cards. Her Alliance base skills remain Pulsing Comet, Glacial Fortress, Shooting Star and Aurora Borealis.

Skill 1

Pulsing Comet

White · Ultimate · Damage over time

The comet lands behind the enemy team and applies a stun with recurring magic damage. Enemies farther from the impact have a shorter effect, so the maximum duration is not guaranteed for every victim. The publisher specifically assigns this skill the Damage over time trait: its damage cannot miss, be dodged or reflected, and critical damage is checked separately per tick. That rule does not remove the stun's own protections or conditions.

Numbers and timing
Secondary maximum-skill damage: 0.15 × A + 2,400 each 0.5 seconds, with a maximum listed effect window of 6 seconds and animation delay 1 second. Exact distance-to-duration scaling and total ticks per victim are not verified; no universal twelve-tick total is asserted.

Numerical scope: A is this hero's Magic Attack, P is Physical Attack and H is the Health stat, not remaining Health unless explicitly stated. These are secondary Alliance maximum-skill expressions unless a publisher formula is identified. This skill's ordinary cap is 120, separate from hero level and unlock rank. No arbitrary-level table or maximum-build total is certified. Temporary combat stats can differ; any snapshot exception is stated above. Cooldowns and animation delays are baseline reports, not guarantees under control, displacement or speed changes. Reviewed 4 November 2026; no current-client observation.

Skill 2

Glacial Fortress

Green · Automatic

Polaris creates an ice obstacle. Attacks against it grant her energy, and after the stated number of hits it breaks into an area attack with a short stun. This is a hit-count obstacle, not a documented Health-capacity shield. The energy gain may also matter against mechanics that respond specifically to bonus energy.

Numbers and timing
Secondary capped values: 70 Energy when an enemy attacks the obstacle; 3 hits before explosion; explosion damage 0.20 × A + 3,600 and stun 1 second. First cooldown 1 second, baseline cooldown 10 seconds, animation delay 1 second. Multi-hit counting and simultaneous-hit edge cases are not certified.

Skill 3

Shooting Star

Blue · Automatic

A shard strikes the center of the opposing formation, damaging and stunning enemies around it. Other Progress allies enlarge its area, which can help reach additional targets and create overlap with a prior stun. An increased area is not extra damage per target, and Polaris herself is excluded from the ally count.

Numbers and timing
Secondary maximum-skill damage: 0.35 × A + 4,200; stun 3 seconds; area increase 25% for each other Progress ally. First cooldown 4 seconds, baseline cooldown 15 seconds and animation delay 1.35 seconds. The source does not establish whether the area increase applies to radius, diameter or another engine measure; no geometric conversion is invented.

Numerical scope: A is this hero's Magic Attack, P is Physical Attack and H is the Health stat, not remaining Health unless explicitly stated. These are secondary Alliance maximum-skill expressions unless a publisher formula is identified. This skill's ordinary cap is 100, separate from hero level and unlock rank. Skill 4

Aurora Borealis

Violet · Passive overlapping-stun trigger

When Polaris or an ally stuns an already-stunned opponent, that opponent gains Radiance and takes more magic damage. Progress heroes receive the larger increase. A first stun on an uncontrolled enemy is insufficient, and neither a blind nor a slow is automatically an equivalent trigger. The effect amplifies incoming magic damage rather than adding an independent projectile.

Numbers and timing
Secondary capped values: Radiance lasts 8 seconds; magic-damage increase 50%, or 100% for damage from Progress heroes. The 100% is presented as the Progress value, not an additional 100% stacked on top of 50%. Refresh behavior, overlapping Radiance instances and a lower-level scaling formula are not verified.

Numerical scope: A is this hero's Magic Attack, P is Physical Attack and H is the Health stat, not remaining Health unless explicitly stated. These are secondary Alliance maximum-skill expressions unless a publisher formula is identified. This skill's ordinary cap is 80, separate from hero level and unlock rank. No arbitrary-level table or maximum-build total is certified. Temporary combat stats can differ; any snapshot exception is stated above. Cooldowns and animation delays are baseline reports, not guarantees under control, displacement or speed changes. Reviewed 4 November 2026; no current-client observation.
