Luther after the rework
Luther is an Honor Tank who jumps into the enemy formation and uses close-range stuns. The publisher’s October 2026 material confirms that his base fourth skill now gains additional Magic Defense when he takes magic damage. His new Relic adds further effects, but those must not be folded into the four base cards. Older community numeric tables do not fully reflect the rework.
Read the landing and the exposed front
Watch where Luther lands, who turns toward him and which teammate becomes exposed after he leaves the front. A disruptive jump can still lose value if the rest of the team cannot survive the resulting formation. Gehenna follows the landing, so an interrupted or prevented movement can matter beyond the damage of Omen alone. Assess automatic timing in the mode you intend to play.
Partners and interactions
The publisher’s Relic examples include Guus and Tristan, linking recovery and critical support with Armor Penetration. Artemis is also shown in one example lineup. Treat these as starting points for tests, particularly with the stated Relics equipped, rather than universal teams. A second front-line protector may be useful when Luther’s jump leaves another ally receiving the attacks he previously absorbed.
Magic resistance is not universal protection
His revised passive reacts specifically to magic damage. Physical and pure damage need their own analysis, and Magic Defense does not guarantee control immunity. Forced movement can also remove him from the position where his short-range effects are useful. Do not infer that every Intelligence hero loses automatically to him or that increased Magic Defense protects all allies equally.
Investment reasoning
Health and defenses address surviving the jump; Physical Attack relates to his offensive skill scaling. The recent rework makes old numerical comparisons unsafe without a current tooltip. If his Relic is equipped, Magic Defense also participates in the documented counterattack system, but this is a different reason to develop the stat from simply reducing magic damage. Diagnose the actual loss before choosing an expensive upgrade path.
Artifacts
Hammer of Righteous Judgment supplies team Armor. Defender’s Covenant develops Luther’s Armor and Magic Defense; Ring of Strength develops Strength. The book provides two personal defensive routes, while the weapon protects the team during its activation window. Neither automatically repairs the positional vulnerability created when Luther jumps away from his own front line.
Glyphs and skins
The reviewed glyph set is Armor, Health, Strength, Magic Defense and Physical Attack. Skin examples include Angel and Casey Jones for Armor, Cybernetic for Health, Winter for Magic Defense and Stellar for Physical Attack. These are documented stat choices, not a claim that a crossover skin is currently purchasable. Select according to the pressure Luther actually receives after landing.
Talismans
The publisher lists Faith with Strength and Purification with Physical Attack. The community additional slots are Health and Toughness respectively. They support different balances of damage and survival; compare rolled values rather than using a fixed guide order. Because the base scaling has recently changed, verify the current client before evaluating a marginal damage gain from the offensive route.
Relic boundaries
The publisher assigns Righteous Retribution to Relic level 1, recurring Gehenna every 11 seconds to level 10, extra Armor Penetration after magic damage to level 20, and nearby enemy Magic Attack reduction to level 30. Base Doctrine of Faith’s 4-second Magic Defense gain exists without that Relic. These distinctions prevent a base-only Luther from being credited with abilities he has not unlocked.
