Lian at a glance
Lian is a Mystery Control hero who uses charm to suspend enemy actions. Her own attacks do not wake charmed opponents, but damage from teammates can. This creates an unusual team-building problem: a lineup can contain plenty of damage and still undermine the very control Lian was selected to provide. Her damage combines a pure-damage orb with magic spheres.
Read who wakes the target
When a charm seems ineffective, inspect the next damage event and its owner. An ally’s area attack may wake several targets immediately even when Lian applied her effect successfully. Conversely, her own damage can continue during sleep. A useful battle review distinguishes failed application, cleansing and damage-triggered waking rather than combining all three under “the charm did nothing.”
Partners and interactions
Choose partners with attention to where and when they deal damage. Concentrated pressure on one enemy can leave other charmed opponents inactive, whereas frequent teamwide hits can shorten the control across the formation. Martha offers recovery and speed without being selected as a teamwide damage dealer. This is a timing principle to test, not a requirement to use a specific five-hero roster.
Charm has limits
Conciliation requires Lian to take damage, so it does not prevent that initial damage event. She must survive the attack to provide sustained control value. Charm can also be resisted or removed, and high-level targets reduce application reliability in the reviewed capped tooltips. Avoid assuming that every opponent who can hit her will remain disabled for the full printed duration.
Investment reasoning
Health and defenses help Lian survive the events that trigger Conciliation. Magic Attack feeds her orb and sphere damage, but more damage alone does not fix teammates waking the enemy too early. The balance depends on whether she is being removed before applying control or surviving while the lineup lacks finishing pressure. Test against the intended formation rather than using total Power as a control statistic.
Artifacts
Idol of Charm provides team Magic Attack. Tome of Arcane Knowledge grants her Magic Attack and Health, and Ring of Intelligence develops her primary attribute. The weapon can support a magic teammate, but that teammate’s attack pattern still matters for sleep duration. Artifact compatibility is not proof that two heroes’ full battle cycles fit together.
Glyphs and skins
Her documented glyphs cover Health, Magic Defense, Armor, Intelligence and Magic Attack. Skin examples include Beach for Health, Solar for Armor, Devil for Magic Defense and Romantic for Magic Attack. The catalogue also lists Astral+ for Magic Reflection; that stat is not a fifth charm skill. Check the actual defensive need and availability before spending. Owned skin bonuses do not depend on which outfit is shown.
Talismans
The publisher lists Charm with Intelligence and Cuteness with Armor. Community additional-slot listings give Magic Attack to Charm and Health to Cuteness. The former supports her stat-scaled damage, while the latter emphasizes survival against physical pressure. Compare the rolled values with whether she survives the hit that is supposed to trigger Conciliation; neither talisman guarantees a successful charm.
Control class and other progression
When a control effect ends, Control class progression can add a separate slowdown and reduce the affected enemy's physical damage. This follow-up is not extra sleep duration from Enchantment or Conciliation, and it is not a source of bonus Energy. Compare class development when evaluating the aftermath of a charm. Keep Realm abilities separate, and do not import Dominion Era pets or Ascension effects into this Alliance profile.
