Infinitode 2 Prestige Research: Quest Resets vs Map Sales

Prestige research still locked in Infinitode 2? Separate ticket costs, quest resets and 50-ticket map sales before resetting quests or consuming valuable tiles.

Having enough Prestige Tickets does not mean you have met a research node's unlock conditions. Infinitode 2 tracks quest resets and qualifying custom-map sales separately. A large ticket reward from one activity does not satisfy a requirement for the other.

Start by reading the exact requirement on the locked node. If it asks for maps sold for 50 or more tickets, another quest reset is the wrong fix. If it asks for Prestige quest resets, earning more tickets from maps will not increase that reset count.

The thresholds below follow the 1.9-era rules: Prineside reduced the first quest-reset threshold from 25% to 20% in update 1.9.0. If your installed version shows a different requirement, check its version and the node's wording before acting.

Separate the cost from the condition

A research node can be unavailable for more than one reason. You may lack its currency, a required earlier research level, or a recorded activity such as a quest reset. Read the prerequisite lines as well as the price.

For Prestige, keep these three things separate:

  • Prestige Tickets are currency you can spend.
  • Prestige quest-reset requirements use the reset count shown on the research node.
  • Maps sold for 50+ tickets count qualifying custom-map sales.

For example, imagine you have 500 tickets but the selected node still shows zero qualifying maps sold out of one required. The balance is not the missing condition. You need the qualifying sale before the node can become available, and you must still satisfy its other prerequisites and pay its price.

This distinction has caused real false bug reports. In Prineside's tracker, a player received 768 tickets from a quest reset but did not unlock Loot Rarity. The reporter subsequently acknowledged it was not a bug: that requirement concerned custom-map sales. The ticket amount was not the issue.

Read the requirement's name, not just the ticket total. These are separate values.

If the node requires quest resets

First make sure you have unlocked the Prestige research itself. Its prerequisite is 24 stars from stage 5, not simply 24 stars collected anywhere in the campaign.

A reset becomes available when the overall quest-completion percentage shown in the Prestige panel reaches the first threshold. Under the 1.9 rules, that threshold is 20%. Older instructions that say 25% describe the earlier rule. Use the percentage in your Prestige quest panel rather than an old fixed number of completed quests.

A manual reset at 100% is still one reset; it does not count as five resets at 20%. Merely reaching 20% does not complete a reset. Check the reset count shown on the node instead of inferring it from your ticket reward.

The branch's reset requirements were reduced from three to two in update 1.8.5. That does not mean two resets automatically buy every upgrade. Individual nodes still have their own prerequisites, costs and map-sale conditions.

Check what you are resetting

Open the Prestige quest-reset panel from level selection, identified by its crown control. Verify that the panel shows overall quest progress and a Prestige reward before confirming. Do not use a research-tree reset or a general progress reset as a substitute. Players have confused these separate actions.

The quest reset affects eligible quests across levels, not just the level whose screen you opened. It lets you earn those quest rewards again while keeping your research. If you are close to a quest reward you want, finish it before resetting rather than assuming only the selected level will change.

There are exceptions to repeatability. The documented exception on level 6.3 is its one-time quests, which do not reset for Prestige. Do not promise yourself a second reward from every completed quest. Read the preview and any special quest rules before you commit.

Resetting as soon as you qualify can be useful when your next desired upgrade explicitly needs another reset. Waiting can make more sense when you are close to a valuable quest reward or another completion goal. The right trigger is the requirement you are trying to meet, not simply seeing that the reset button is available.

If the node requires maps sold for 50+ tickets

This is a count of separate custom maps sold for at least 50 tickets each. It is not your total ticket balance, the number of campaign levels completed, or the sum of several smaller sales. Prineside introduced the 50-ticket minimum for this research condition in update 1.8.5.

These examples show the difference:

  • Sell two maps for 49 tickets each: you earn 98 tickets, but neither sale reaches 50, so they add zero qualifying maps.
  • Sell one map for 250 tickets: it adds one qualifying map, not five.
  • Sell five maps for 50 tickets each: they add five qualifying maps, even though their combined reward is also 250 tickets.

If the requirement says two maps, you need two qualifying sales. If it says five, you need five. A larger payout from a single sale does not replace the missing sales.

The condition counts qualifying sales. Equal ticket totals can produce very different progress.

Check the sale preview before sacrificing tiles

A custom map must be played before it can be sold for Prestige. After the run, inspect the map-sale screen and its ticket reward before committing. Selling individual inventory tiles for Prestige Dust is a different action; it does not become a qualifying custom-map sale just because the dust can later be crafted into tickets.

For a 50+ requirement, the important number is the ticket reward on that sale screen. Do not confuse the editor's map-value units or your existing wallet balance with the sale's payout. If the displayed reward is below 50, selling it will not help that counter.

Before building a sale map, choose parts you are willing to lose. Selling the map consumes its contents rather than returning them for another sale. Custom maps also share owned tiles: using a valuable piece in another saved layout does not protect that piece from being sold.

Use this short check:

  1. Read how many qualifying sales the target node still needs.
  2. Build and play a sale map using expendable parts.
  3. Check that the sale reward reaches at least 50 tickets.
  4. Review which parts will be consumed, then decide whether to confirm.
  5. Reopen the research node and check the qualifying-sale counter before preparing another map.

Do not sell a favorite farming setup just to test whether the counter moves. A failed low-value sale can cost the parts without advancing the condition you wanted.

If it is still locked afterward

Reopen the exact node and check every requirement. Confirm that you completed the requested activity, that each relevant map sale reached 50, and that any linked research has reached the required level. Finally, check that you can afford the upgrade. Meeting an activity condition is not the same as purchasing the research.

If the displayed counter still does not match what you did, record the node name, the counter before and after, your app version, and the individual sale reward or completed reset. Keep screenshots of those details. Do not perform another reset or sacrifice another valuable map merely to reproduce the problem. The named requirement and the recorded action are the evidence needed to distinguish a missed prerequisite from a genuine issue.
