About This Game
The Roottrees are Dead is a detective puzzle adventure about tracing a wealthy family’s surviving relatives. The developer announced its mobile release on November 5, 2026, for Android, iPhone and iPad. Google Play records an earlier Android release date of October 22, 2026, which is the date shown in this page’s details. Evil Trout developed the game, with IndieArk handling the mobile release.
Reconstruct a family, one clue at a time
Set in 1998, the story begins after a plane crash leaves an enormous inheritance to be divided according to an unusual will. Your task is to establish the family connections that determine who belongs on the tree. You investigate through a simulated early internet, comparing photographs, newspaper stories, books and other records. Names alone are not enough: occupations, dates and relationships help distinguish plausible guesses from deductions supported by evidence.
This is a good fit for players who enjoy reading closely and connecting scattered details. The mobile listing also includes the second mystery, Roottreemania. To keep the discovery intact, this overview avoids naming relatives or revealing solutions.
Before you buy
The game is a paid download. The US App Store and Google Play listings showed US$9.99 on November 7, 2026; prices and availability can differ by region. Check your local store before purchasing.
