Hearthstone

Hearthstone turns Warcraft characters and creatures into a card game about timing, resources and combinations. You choose a class, assemble a deck and try to make its cards work together before your opponent's plan takes over. Learning when to hold a useful card can matter as much as knowing what it does.

Several modes offer different ways in. Traditional duels let you refine a deck over time, Arena asks you to build from a changing draft, and solo adventures offer another place to practise. Battlegrounds is a separate auto-battler built around recruiting minions and improving a warband against seven other players.

That range is useful if you enjoy strategy but do not always want the same format. Mobile and PC share your collection and progress, making it easy to switch screens. Hearthstone is free to start, with optional purchases. A growing card pool means learning and collection management are part of the hobby, not just the opening tutorial.
