Clash of Clans

Clash of Clans gives you two connected projects: building a village that can withstand attacks and putting together armies that can break through someone else's defences. Resources feed into upgrades, while walls, traps and defensive buildings let you keep adjusting the layout of your home.

Attacking is where those preparations get tested. Different combinations of troops, spells and heroes give you room to experiment, rather than relying on one army forever. Practice battles and the single-player campaign offer places to explore tactics, while multiplayer raids put another player's base in front of you.

Joining a clan adds shared goals. Clan Wars and Clan War Leagues turn individual attacks into part of a team effort, and friendly challenges provide another way to compare ideas. There is also a separate Builder Base to develop when you want a different set of buildings and battles.

It is a good fit if you enjoy revisiting a long-term project and discussing strategy with a regular group. Players looking for a story with a clear ending should expect a different rhythm. Clash of Clans requires an internet connection, is free to play and offers optional purchases. The game also includes random rewards.
