Evony: The King's Return

Evony combines an expanding empire with smaller survivor and puzzle-style challenges. The lasting project is your city: managing resources, improving research and training an army that can operate on a shared world map. Choosing a civilization also changes the architectural character of your settlement.

Historical generals provide another layer of development. You recruit them for military and city roles, then decide how their strengths fit the forces and projects you are building. Infantry and siege units belong to a broader collection of troop types, so preparing an army involves more than picking one favourite character.

Alliances bring diplomacy and coordination into the routine, with communication tools for planning alongside other players. The shorter challenges give you something different to tackle between those strategic decisions. If the empire-building side appeals, that mixture may be the draw; players seeking only standalone puzzles should know the city and alliance systems are substantial.
