Gadget

LONGARMSDetails

Extends the reach of Shade's next main attack. Use the extra distance to catch an opponent just beyond the usual hug range.

Star Power

HARDENED HOODIEDetails

Reduces damage Shade takes while in Incorporeal Form. Use the protection with the form's movement rather than assuming walls make every route safe.

Gear 1

SHIELDDetails

Adds a consumable shield that recovers while the Brawler is at full health. Preserve recovery time between fights to restore the extra protection.

Gear 2

DAMAGEDetails

Increases damage while the Brawler is below half health. The extra pressure is conditional, not a reason to remain in a losing exchange.

Hypercharge

THE FRIGHTENERDetails

Heals Shade while it spends time inside a wall during the Hypercharged form. Terrain becomes a recovery opportunity as well as a route, but staying inside it also gives up time that could be spent attacking outside.

How to play this build

Choose a side with connected walls and an exit toward your team. Longarms lets the next attack reach farther, which is useful for testing a defender's position before stepping into a full exchange. Aim the center of the hug deliberately rather than assuming a wide swing will produce the same result.

Build an approach around Incorporeal Form and identify where you will emerge before entering the wall. Hardened Hoodie reduces damage during the form, while Shield supports the opening contact after a recovery. Pressure the defender who blocks a useful passing route, then withdraw if the rest of the enemy team turns toward you.

Damage can improve a close exchange at low health, but it is not a reason to chase a tank through uncontrolled ground. The Frightener offers recovery inside walls during its empowered form. This setup trades the alternative gadget's jump and fear for reach; open maps and missing wall routes make that choice considerably harder to exploit.
