Roblox Age Verified but Messages Are Missing? Check Chat Access

Completing an age check does not unlock every conversation. Roblox also applies age-group rules, account settings and regional restrictions, so a missing message does not necessarily mean your connection is broken.

Identify which chat is affected

Experience chat is the conversation inside a game. Friends chat is a separate conversation with friends or a group, even when you open it while playing.

If you see hashtags instead of words, the text was filtered. If the chat window is absent, the developer may not have enabled it. Neither symptom is the same as missing messages from particular players.

Check experience chat settings

1. Open Settings → Privacy & content restrictions → Communication → Experience chat. Review the available permissions.
2. For a parent-managed account, the parent can check Settings → Parental Controls → Settings You Manage → Communication → Experience chat. Complete any required parental approval rather than trying to bypass it.

Ordinary experience chat connects eligible players in similar age groups; sharing a server does not make every player’s messages visible. If Quick Words are available, their lightning-bolt phrases let players coordinate gameplay across ages.

If the missing conversation is with a friend

Check Settings → Privacy & content maturity → Communication → Chat and Party with friends. A “No one” setting disables friends chat. If a group shows an invitation, review it and accept only if you want to join; your age or region may require this before messages appear.

Trusted friends can enable text and group conversations across age groups, subject to eligibility. Accounts under 9 cannot use friends chat outside games, even with trusted friends. Regional limits still apply.

For someone you genuinely know and trust, open their profile’s three-dot menu and look for Add trusted friend. Follow the method offered for your accounts. Children aged 12 or younger need parental approval for each request; some regions require approval for older teens too. If the option is missing, the feature may not be available in your country.

Contact Roblox Support with your device, the affected experience or chat type, the exact symptom and the relevant settings. Keep passwords and verification documents out of your message. Do not change your age or region just to gain chat access.
