Hold the Lead is a bonus competition alongside the Racers Championship, not a replacement for it. Your team can earn rewards from both. First check that your Racers event shows the bonus leaderboard before planning around it. Scopely’s feature overview

Scopely’s feature overviewWhich first place counts
Your team’s car becomes the Lead Vehicle when it has the most points in the current race. A visual effect on the position track identifies it. Holding first on the Championship standings is not the trigger: Hold the Lead measures time at the front of individual races, accumulated across the competition. Official scoring rules

Official scoring rulesHow minutes are counted
Only complete minutes count. Being overtaken ends that uninterrupted lead, but your team keeps the full minutes already earned. Partial minutes do not count.
| Example lead | Time credited |
|---|---|
| 59 seconds | 0 minutes |
| 3 minutes 20 seconds | 3 minutes |
| 4 minutes 43 seconds | 4 minutes |
Why the Championship can show a different result
Championship racing awards medals for each race’s finishing position; the final race awards double medals. That is different from measuring time spent leading. Official Racers guide

Decide what your next push is for
- Check both standings and their displayed prizes, then agree with teammates which result matters most.
- For bonus time, aim for a lead you can sustain rather than repeated brief overtakes. For Championship placement, assess the race finish.
