Zenless Zone Zero

Zenless Zone Zero moves between the busy streets of New Eridu and the dangerous spaces known as Hollows. You play a Proxy, helping people navigate those threats while getting to know the city's factions and the agents who work with you. Its urban setting gives the adventure a different flavour from a traditional fantasy journey.

Combat is the main reason to get comfortable with the controls. A squad can contain up to three characters, with basic and special attacks feeding into dodges, parries and coordinated chain attacks. Recognising an opening and switching into the right action matters, especially when an opponent is stunned or vulnerable.

The cast and its relationships provide something to follow between battles, but this is an action game rather than a turn-based team manager. It should appeal if you enjoy practising timing and building a squad whose moves complement each other. Optional purchases include random virtual items, so approach character collecting with a budget in mind.
