RuneScape gives you a broad fantasy world and plenty of ways to spend time in it. You might follow a quest, train a crafting skill, trade at the Grand Exchange or prepare for a difficult boss. Those activities connect, but you do not have to approach them in a single prescribed order.

Its modern presentation and combat distinguish this version from Old School RuneScape. Melee, ranged and magical approaches give combat-focused players different paths, while farming, fishing and other skills provide alternatives when you want a change of pace. The world also has a long-running cast of characters and stories to discover.

PC and mobile cross-play means the adventure does not need to stay on one device. You can begin for free, with membership opening more of the map, skills and quests; additional in-game purchases are offered too. This is a persistent character project with plenty of repetition, so it works best when setting and pursuing your own goals is part of the fun.
