Papers, Please places you at a border checkpoint in the fictional state of Arstotzka after a war with neighboring Kolechia. Travelers arrive with documents for inspection, and you decide whether to admit them, refuse entry or arrange an arrest. The job involves distinguishing legitimate visitors from people hiding their identities or intentions.

Document checks are supported by search and fingerprint systems, making careful comparison part of each decision. Its dystopian setting is presented through pixel art and mature story themes. This is a paid, single-player game that supports offline play.
